K Group messaging services
We inform You that K Group recently activated two new certification techniques for outbound emails. These techniques allow the recipient to acknowledge the message as authentic and free from phishing or address forgery.
  • SPF (Sender Policy Framework)
It certifies that the message comes from a server or an enabled device (e.g. mail server, smart phone, Blackberry, mail push service).
  • DK and DKIM (Domain Key and Domain Key Identified Mail)
They certify messages using a signature obtained using public-key cryptography, assuring that it comes from Your mailbox.

To allow outbound messages to be passed through these systems, it is mandatory to use K Group mail server as sending server or K Group web mail (http://webmail.kgroup.eu).

We recall you the correct configuration to use in any email client on your computer:

Outbound mail (SMTP server):
smtp.the-kgroup.com Use SMTP Authentication for outbound mail, using the same credentials given for inbound (POP3, IMAP4 or web mail) mail.
We wish to remember that inbound mail server is passed through antivirus and antispam engines. The last one has Bayesian learning to teach the mail server which messages are good and which not.

In case you receive junk email in your Inbox, you can signal it to mail server to avoid further deliveries. Here below how You can do it using different methods:

Forward the message as attachment to spamlearn@the-kgroup.com, be sure to use SMTP authentication.

Using web mail interface, you can drag and drop the message to the public folder named Public Folders\Bayesian Learning\Spam  or right-click on the message and select “This message is spam”.
Drag and drop the message in IMAP folder Public Folders\Bayesian Learning\Spam if you are using IMAP4 protocol in your email client.

We invite You to check periodically the folder Junk E-Mail via IMAP4 or webmail mail and signal good messages classified as spam:

Forward messages as attachments to hamlearn@the-kgroup.com, using SMTP authentication for outbound mail.

Using web mail, drag and drop messages in public folder Public Folders\Bayesian Learning\No Spam or right-click on message and select “This message is not spam”.

We wish to remember that anti-spam engine uses an external provider for IP black list (DNSBL), which allows the system to classify messages from well known spam sources based on sender’s reliability.
